The Town of Bladensburg is pleased to announce, on Monday, June 28, 2021, our very own Mayor, Takisha James, was formally elected as President of the Maryland Mayors Association (MMA), preceding Mayor John Carroll of Galena (pictured). The Mayor's Association came about in the early 1990s as an avenue to assist municipal-level elected officials with knowledge on how to strengthen and support their communities through advocacy and the development of effective leadership.

"I look forward to continuing to work with the wonderful members of the Executive Committee as we continue the mission of helping mayors better serve their communities and support the initiatives of the Maryland Municipal League," James explains.
